Planning an Easter Celebration

1061116_elegant_dinnerIt’s almost time to break out the Easter decorations and plan for that big celebration. What’s on the menu this year? The traditional ham of course, maybe some sweet potatoes; and don’t forget the little lamb shaped butter sculpture for the hot, fresh out of the oven rolls.

Keep The Kids Busy

There are more Easter egg decorating kits on the market than you can shake a chocolate bunny at. Keep the kids busy decorating the eggs with a minimum of Easter candy and you might actually be able to enjoy a little bit of quiet time during your Easter celebration. The kids can also cut out decorations for Easter with some safety scissors and construction paper; they can decorate with crayons or non-permanent markers.

A Colorful Centerpiece

In the center of the table you can place either a pastel colored small pail with either artificial tulips or an Easter egg tree made with a pussy willow branch. Make sure that each person has an Easter egg by their place setting with a number on it. At the end of the meal, carefully turn over the pail just enough that you can read the number on the bottom of the pail.

Whoever has the egg with the number that matches the number on the pail wins the centerpiece, and gets to take it home with them to use with their Easter decorations next year. OH! Don’t forget the Peeps!
